Both the leafy green yarn color and the sweet leaves with rounded bottoms and pointed tops remind me of Aspen leaves. I have a core memory of visiting Sundance a long time ago and just being mesmerized by the trees!

Finished Size: 6” x 25”
Materials:
1 skein fingering weight yarn. Model shown in Anzula Haiku (70% merino/20% bamboo/10% nylon; 425 yds; 114 g) in the Aspen colorway.
16” circular knitting needle size 3/3.25mm or size needed to obtain a pleasing fabric.
Gauge: Gauge is not critical for this pattern.
Abbreviations:
k – knit
k2tog – knit 2 together
p – purl
rep – repeat
rnd – round
sk2p – a double decrease – sl 1 st purlwise, k2tog, pass slipped st over knit st.
st – stitch
yo – yarn over
Cowl:
Cast on 120 (or any multiple of 12) with long tail cast on. Join to work in the round, placing marker at beginning of round and being careful not to twist.
Rnd 1, 3, 5: Purl
Rnd 2 and remaining even numbered rows: Knit.
Rnd 7: (K2, yo, k2, sk2p, k2, yo, k3) 10 times.
Rnd 9: (K3, yo, k1, sk2p, k1, yo, k4) 10 times.
Rnd 11: (K4, yo, sk2p, yo, k5) 10 times.
Rnd 13: K1, (k2, yo, k5, yo, k2, sk2p) 10 times noting final sk2p will incorporate 1st st of the rnd. Place marker after final sk2p.
Rnd 15: K1, (k1, yo, k7, yo, k1, sk2p) 10 times noting final sk2p will incorporate 1st st of the rnd. Place marker after final sk2p.
Rnd 17: K1, (yo, k9, yo, sk2p) 10 times noting final sk2p will incorporate 1st st of the rnd. Place marker after final sk2p.
Rep Rnds – 7 – 18 for pattern 3 more times or to desired height.
Border:
Rnds 1, 3, 5: Purl
Rnds 2, 4: Knit.
Bind off knitwise. Weave in all ends. Block.
