This simple two-row repeat makes the Comfy Cozy Scarf a snap to stitch up. Use an alpaca blend yarn as I did here for extra warmth and texture. This is a free crochet pattern with a video tutorial!

Finished Size: 7” x 78”
Materials:
575 yds worsted weight yarn (CYCA 4, Medium). Model shown in Universal Yarn Offbeat (affiliate link) (90% acrylic/10% alpaca; 150g; 586 yds) 1 skein #102 Tubular
Crochet hook size 7/4.5mm or size needed to obtain gauge
Gauge: 3 sc + 2 shells x 7 rows = 4” in pattern stitch unblocked. Gauge not critical for this pattern.
Special Stitches:
Shell – (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in designated space or stitch
Pattern Notes:
Ch-3 counts as 1 dc.
Abbreviations
Beg – beginning
Ch – chain
Dc – double crochet
Hdc – half double crochet
Sc – single crochet
Sk – skip
Scarf:
Ch 34. (Multiple of 8 + 2 if you want to adjust the width)
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, (sk 3 ch, shell in next ch, sk 3 ch, sc in next ch) 4 times. Ch 3, turn. 4 shells + 5 sc
Row 2: 3 dc in first sc, sk 3 dc, sc in next ch-1 sp, (sk 3 dc, shell in next sc, sk 3 dc sc in next ch-1 sp) 3 times, sk 3 dc, 4 dc in last sc. Ch 1, turn. 3 shells + 4 sc + 2 4-dc groups
Row 3: Sc in first dc, (sk 3 dc, shell in next sc, sk 3 dc, sc in next ch-1 sp) 4 times placing last sc in top of beg-ch-3. 4 shells + 5 sc
Rep Rows 2 – 3 for pattern until work measures 78” or desired length, ending with a Row 2.
Final Row: Sc in first dc, ch 3, sk 3 dc, hdc in next sc, (ch 3, sk 3 dc, sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 3, sk 3 dc, hdc in next sc) 3 times, ch 3, sk 3 dc, sc in top of beg-ch-3. Fasten off.
Finishing:
Weave in ends.
On the photo in the model I did not wet block the scarf – I like the texture of it as it was. You can always block it if you desire – depending on the yarn used it may grow a bit!
