Easy Vintage Inspired Crochet Dishcloth Free Pattern

Some of you know I have an eBay store where I sell vintage and discounted craft supplies and vintage clothing. Recently I scored a large lot of Speed-Cro-Sheen in a couple of colors including this blue and white multi. So I broke open a ball and designed this vintage inspired dishcloth. Whether you make it in Speed-Cro-Sheen or a different yarn it is a great way to learn the horizontal puff stitch.

Finished Size: 9” square (note that the blue model shown was wider but the anxiety of yarn chicken was a lot so I took off a pattern repeat for the written pattern.)

Materials:

100 yds sport weight (CYCA 2, Fine) 100% cotton yarn. Model shown in one ball Speed Cro Sheen, a vintage product (some available in several different colors in my eBay store at this time ) , video and WIP photos are in Queensland Coastal Cotton Fine (100% cotton; 100g; 350 yds) in #2018 Wisteria

Crochet hook size E/4/3.5mm

Gauge: gauge is not critical for this pattern but you want a firm fabric for dishcloths and washcloths – cotton yarn can be stretchy when it is wet.
