This is perhaps the easiest of the triangle shawls in crochet, and with this pattern and the video tutorial it’s suitable for even the earliest beginner! Start with a chain 4 and work your way from the top down and the center out, and you can make it as large or as small as you want, and use any type of yarn as long as you have an appropriate sized hook! This is also a great primer or reinforcement of the skill of making a granny square as this type of shawl is referred to as a half granny.
Finished Size: 64” wide x 32” tall at tallest point. Your mileage may vary a little depending on your gauge.
Materials: Caron Big Donut O’Go (CYCA 4, Medium) (100% Acrylic; 502 yds; 9.9 oz/280g) 1 skein Spiced Ginger or desired colorway. Or an equivalent amount of worsted weight yarn for the size shown – you can also make this pattern in any weight yarn you like as long as you have an appropriate sized hook, but of course, the yardage will be different for other weights.
Crochet hook size I/9/5.50mm or size needed to make a pleasing fabric with some drape to it. Gauge is not critical for this pattern but a tight stitch is not going to make a comfy shawl.
