If I can just get through the month of March, life will be normal again. Meaning still hectic, but not to the point where I constantly feel like my brain is about to leak out of my ears.
So many exciting things that I haven’t had time to take pictures! Ah well – you faithful readers have proved to me that you will read the text without the pretty pictures, as long as I don’t make you do it too often…
The Secret Language of Knitters is zipping through production at an unholy speed. This is good news/bad news. The good news is I will have copies to show at TNNA in June (the better news is I get to GO to TNNA in June – my first time and I am very excited!) The bad news is that I have to go through all the scut work like looking at cover art, marketing text, copy edits, etc in record breaking speeds. Which means I have been up late for the last few nights with a green pencil in my hand (the copy editor used red so I had to pick another color). Almost through though – and I have an amazing team to work with which has proved to be a real blessing. I can’t show you the final cover just yet, but will post it as soon as it is completely approved.
The soapstone book is starting its own meandering pass through production at a different publisher. Thankfully we aren’t rushing anything on that book – it will be out this fall.
My “I’m so late with this article I am embarrassed to call myself a professional” pile has shrunk from 5 to 2, and both of those 2 should be finished by the end of the week, so that will be a relief. Then, of course I will have to go hustle for some more work, but at least I won’t be late with anything.
The Kid is still dancing pretty much every night of her life – everybody and their dog wants an Irish Step Dancer at their event in the month of March. No feis until April though, so I just drive and dress her, drive and dress her, and realize no nights are my own until the month is out. Television? What’s that? Knitting for pleasure? Who has time? Sleep?????
And speaking of dogs – the princess Cinderella is feeling much better now. The warmer weather seems to be perking her up as well – she ran around the front yard like a puppy this morning just for the fun of it.
Okay – back to the green pencil. I promise photos as soon as I have done something photo-worthy!
Keep on going along. Things will get better, I’m sure. 🙂
