Stripes Interrupted Fingerless Gloves

These are very easy to stitch, and even though you have two colors in each stripe, you are only stitching with one color at a time so there are no bobbins to juggle.

Finished Size:
8” tall x 8” in circumference at wrist and top, 10” in circumference at widest part of thumb gusset.

Materials:

Small amounts worsted weight yarn (CYCA 4, Medium) in two colors. Model shown in Red Heart Soft (1005 acrylic; 256 yds; 5 oz), 1 skein each Cinnabar (A) and Biscuit (B)

Crochet hook size I/9/5.50 mm or size needed to obtain gauge

Tapestry or yarn needle

Gauge:
12 sts x 10 rows = 4”/10cm in patt st

Notes:
Ch-3 counts as 1 dc throughout.

Abbreviations:
Beg – beginning
Ch – chain
Dc – double crochet
FPtr – front post treble crochet – work a treble crochet around the throat of the designated st, in front of or on the right side of the work
Rev sc – reverse single crochet also known as crab stitch
Rnd – round
Sc – single crochet
Sl – slip st

Glove:

With A ch 24. Join into a ring with sl st in first ch, being careful not to twist.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in each ch around. Join rnd with sl st in first sc. 24 sc
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in next sc and in each sc around. Change to B, join rnd with sl st in top of beg-ch-3. 24 dc
Rnd 3: With B, ch 1, sc in each of first 2 dc, FPtr around throat of sc in Rnd 1 under next dc, *sc in each of next 3 dc, FPtr around throat of sc in Rnd 1 under next dc. Rep from * around, sc in last dc. Join rnd with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in next sc and in each st around. Change to A, join rnd with sl st in top of beg-ch-3.
Rnd 5: With A, ch 1, sc in each of first 2 dc, FPtr around throat of next FPtr, *sc in each of next 3 dc, FPtr around throat of next FP tr. Rep from * around, sc in last dc. Join rnd with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 6: With A, rep Rnd 4. Change to B at rnd join.
Rnds 7 – 8: With B, rep Rnds 5 – 6. Change to A at rnd join of Rnd 8.
Rnd 9: With A, Rep Rnd 5.
Rnd 10: Ch 3, dc in each of next 3 sts, 3 dc in next sc, dc in each remaining st around. Change to B, join rnd with sl st in top of beg-ch-3. 26 dc
Rnd 11: With B, ch 1, sc in each of first 2 dc, FPtr around throat of next FPtr, sc in each of next 5 dc, FPtr around throat of next FPtr, *sc in each of next 3 dc, FPtr around throat of next FP tr. Rep from * around, sc in last dc. Join rnd with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 12: Ch 3, dc in each of next 3 sts, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in each remaining st around. Change to A, join rnd with sl st in in top of beg-ch-3. 28 dc
Rnd 13: With A, ch 1, ch 1, sc in each of first 2 dc, FPtr around throat of next FPtr, sc in each of next 7 dc, FPtr around throat of next FPtr, *sc in each of next 3 dc, FPtr around throat of next FP tr. Rep from * around, sc in last dc. Join rnd with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 14: Ch 3, dc in each of next 3 sts, 2 dc in next dc, dc in each of next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in each remaining st around. Change to B, join rnd with sl st in in top of beg-ch-3. 30 dc
Rnd 15: With B, ch 1, sc in each of first 2 dc, FPtr around throat of next FPtr, ch 3, sk next 9 dc, FPtr around throat of next FPtr, *sc in each of next 3 dc, FPtr around throat of next FP tr. Rep from * around, sc in last dc. Join rnd with sl st in first sc. 21 sts + ch-3 sp
Rnd 16: Ch 3, dc in each of next 2 sts, dc in each of next 3 ch, dc in each st around. Change to A, join rnd with sl st at top of beg-ch-3. 24 dc
Rnds 17 – 19: Rep Rnds 5 – 7.
Rnd 20: With B, ch 1, work 1 rnd rev sc/crab st. End off.


Finishing:

With B, work one rnd rev sc/crab st around thumb opening.
With B, work 1 rnd rev sc/crab st around hem.

Weave in all ends.
