We all love crocheted dishcloths but sometimes there is a spot on a pot or pan that needs a little extra elbow grease. Now you can have your scrubby and dishcloth all together in one handy dandy package!
This is as much a recipe as it is an ironclad pattern but they are fun to make in a short period of time, and would be great for housewarming or hostess gifts. You could even use up some scraps for a more retro look!

Finished Size:
Approximately 10” tall excluding the hanger x 11” wide at the bottom hem, spread out.
Materials:
1 skein Lily Sugar’n Cream
Crochet hook size H/8/5.0mm or size needed to create a firm fabric.
Round plastic scrubby from the grocery or dollar store
Gauge: Gauge not critical for this pattern – you want a firm fabric though because the stitching will loosen up a bit when it gets wet.
Scrubby:
Rnd 1: Place a slip knot on your hook, and starting any place on the outer edge of the scrubby, working under 2 or more strands of the plastic, sc evenly spaced around half of the scrubby.
I had 16 sc at the halfway point so I am going to use that for my math but if yours is a lot different it’s ok!
Chain ten for a hanger.
Work the same number of sc to the beginning of the round that you had on the first half of the scrubby – in my case 16. You do not need to join the rounds.
Rnd 2: Sc in each sc around to hanger, increasing 3 sts evenly spaced. In my case I worked a sc in the first sc, then (2 sc in next sc, sc in each of next 4 sc) 3 times, you can adjust as needed. Work 15 sc in the hanger loop, or whatever number looks good to you, repeat the first half of the round over the second half of Rnd 1 that is remaining.
Row 1: Sl st in back loop only of next 8 sc, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: 2 sc in each of next 16 sts – I worked over the sl sts for the sake of it being easy, right into the tops of the sc from Rnd 2. Ch 3, turn. 32 sc
Row 3: Dc in first sc, dc in each sc across to last sc, 2 dc in last sc. Ch 1, turn. 34 dc
Row 4: 2 sc in first dc, sc in each dc across to last dc, 2 dc in last dc. Ch 3, turn. 36 sc
Row 5: Dc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Row 6: Sc in each dc across. Ch 3, turn.
Rep Rows 5 – 6 for pattern until work measures approximately 7” from the bottom of the plastic scrubby, or desired length, ending with a Row 6.
End off and weave in ends.
