Ruhpolding Cowl

Long, loose and lacy this crochet cowl can be worn wrapped once around the neck or twice. Use three colors as I did here, or make it all on one color if you prefer.

So called because I crocheted this while touring Germany and Austria with a fun group of knitters and crocheters, and I made this on our tour bus! Ruhpolding is where we stayed.

Joining Row: (See video below for help – you can skip to 12:31)

Orient the work so that you can join the last row with the first row.

NOTE: For this row only, every time you complete a dc or a ch-1 between dc, sl st in the opposite side of the foundation ch of the adjacent stitch to join. For example, when working (ch 1, sk1 dc, dc in next dc) twice, work as follows: ch 1, sl st in corresponding st on Row 1 foundation ch, dc in next dc on Row 119, sl st in corresponding st on Row 1 foundation ch) twice.

Continuing on with A, sl st in first ch on Row 1 foundation ch, dc in each of next 2 dc, (ch 1, sk 1 dc, dc in next dc) twice, [sl stin next 3 chs of the 7 skipped ch of Row 1 foundation ch, sc in next sc of Row 119 while also working over the 4th ch of the ch-7of Row 1, sl st in remaining 3 chs of Row 1 foundation ch, dc in next dc of Row 119, (ch 1, sk 1 dc, dc in next dc) 3 times] 3 times, sl st in next 3 chs of the 7 skipped chs of Row 1foundation ch, sc in next sc of Row 119 while also working over the 4th ch of the ch-7 of Row 1, sl st in remaining 3 chs of Row 1foundation ch, dc in next dc of Row 119, (ch 1, sk 1 dc, dc in next dc) twice, dc in each of last 2 dc.
