Brocatelle is a light and lacy bandana cowl that you can crochet in one skein of fingering weight yarn. It is crocheted from the top down and increases from the bottom of the cowl part in three even points, and lays flat across the back.
We ALL have that skein of sock weight kicking around, don’t we? We loved it at the store or fiber festival and have been waiting forever for the right project. If you are a crocheter – this is it!

This pattern is part of the the Gift to Myself Crochet Along sponsored by Underground Crafter. Check out her CAL post to learn more about it, and learn how you can maybe win some awesome prizes!

Finished Size: 21” neck circumference, 18” tall from top edge to center point, 25” across the back AFTER BLOCKING (see notes!)
If you would like to purchase an ad-free PDF of this pattern please check out its page on Ravelry.
Materials:
1 skein Dream in Color Smooshy Cashmere (Affiliate link) (70% superwash merino/20% cashmere/10%nylon; 4 oz; 400 yds) Color shown is #010 Gold Experience
Crochet hook size F/6/3.75mm or size needed to get a pleasing fabric
3 stitch markers
Gauge: 4 pattern repeats (16 sts on the cross stitch rnd) x 8 rows = 4”/10cm AFTER BLOCKING
Notes:
This stitch pattern loosens up quite a bit during wet blocking. If you measure unblocked and it is a tad tighter than stated you are probably fine unless you are a seriously tight crocheter. Gauge is not absolutely critical for this pattern but the cowl part must fit comfortably around your neck.
