Echo Ridge Dishcloth

This crochet dishcloth is made in three colors, and the split crossed front post treble crochet stitches provide both visual interest and a little extra oomph when scrubbing your dishes. Due to its interesting texture, if would look just as great in two colors, or even one!

Finished Size: 8 1/2″ Square

Materials:

Hemp by Hemptique (affiliate link) (70% cotton/30% hemp; 50g; 66 yards), 1 skein each Moss Green (A), Dusty Pink (B) and Natural (C)

Crochet hook size 4.5mm or size needed to create a firm fabric

Gauge: Gauge is not critical for this pattern but plant fibers tend to relax when wet so a firm fabric is required.

Notes:

Ch-3 counts as 1 dc

Dishcloth

With A ch 32.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 3, turn. 31 sc

Row 2: Dc in each sc across. Change to B, ch 1, turn. 31 dc

Row 3: With B, sc in each of first 2 dc, *sk 2 dc, FPtr around throat of sc below next dc, sc in 2nd of the 2 skipped dc, FPtr around throat of sc below first skipped dc, sc in each of next 5 dc. Rep from * 4 times noting the final rep will have only 2 sts past the last post stitch. Ch 3, turn.

Row 4: Dc in each st across. Change to C, ch 1, turn.

Row 5: With C, sc in each of first 6 dc, *sk 2 dc, FPtr around throat of sc below next dc, sc in 2nd of the 2 skipped dc, FPtr around throat of sc below first skipped dc, sc in each of next 5 dc. Rep from * 3 times, sc in last dc. Ch 3, turn.

Row 6: Dc in each st across. Change to A, ch 1, turn.

Rep Rows 2 – 6 for pattern, while at the same time maintaining the stripe pattern as 2 rows A, 2 rows B, 2 rows C, until 23 rows have been completed. End off.

Edging:

Beginning in any stitch, with A, work 1 rnd sc, placing 3 sc in each corner so the cloth lays flat. Join rnd with sl st to first sc. End off.

Weave in ends.
