Graduated Cables Square

Learn to make crochet cables with front post and back post stitches in this easy to stitch square for afghans, throws or sweaters. Use two colors like I did here, use multiple colors and use up some scraps or partial skeins, or focus on the texture by using only one color.

MOOGLY CAL 2025 Block 6 - Graduated Cables from MBTCreates.com

Finished Size: 12” square

Materials:

Small amounts worsted weight yarn. Model shown in Red Heart With Love (Amazon affiliate link) in Iceland (A) and Peacock (B)

Crochet hook size J/10/6.00mm or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge: Square is 12” square including edging.

Notes:

Use a bobbin for each column of color – the largest one I used was about 30 yds for each of the last two cable panels – the others were smaller.

When changing color make the last yarn over in the last stitch of the old color in the new color.

Ch-3 counts as 1 dc throughout

Special Stitches:

BPtr – back post treble crochet

FPtr – front post treble crochet
